Over 100 professors at Columbia University have signed a letter in support of students who expressed their views on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The professors called for protection of the students from potential negative consequences and for the university to halt its educational initiatives in Israel. They also requested that the administration refrain from favoring one side in the conflict. The professors argue that expressing empathy for Palestinians and calling for an end to the illegal occupation of Palestinian territory is not a radical or controversial opinion.
