Mexico's ruling party, Morena, has named its candidates for eight governorships and the mayorship of Mexico City. Former capital police chief Omar Garcia Harfuch, who was disqualified due to a gender quota, has expressed his loyalty to the party. Morena has already announced its nominee for the presidential race, former Mexico City mayor Claudia Sheinbaum.
