Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa has announced his resignation following his involvement in a corruption probe. Costa's chief of staff was arrested earlier in the day as part of the investigation, which focuses on alleged malfeasance, corruption, and influence peddling relating to lithium mine concessions and green energy projects. Costa, who has been the country's Socialist leader since 2015, defended his innocence and expressed his trust in the justice system.
