Catholic Church to pay $76 million to abuse victims in eastern Canada

The Catholic Church will pay $104 million to 292 victims of sexual abuse in eastern Canada. Court ruling found Archdiocese of St. John liable for abuse at Mount Cashel Orphanage. Payouts range from $55,000 to $850,000 per victim. Ernst & Young to oversee distribution. Church raises funds by selling buildings.
