Community raise $20,000 after health department shutsdown 12-year-old's ice cream stand

Twelve-year-old Danny Doherty set up an ice cream stand to raise funds for his brother’s hockey team but was ordered to close by the Norwood Board of Health for violating food regulations. The community rallied in support, resulting in Danny raising $20,000 for the Boston Bear Cubs, a team for players with disabilities. Nancy Thrasher, co-owner of Furlong’s Candies, explained that Danny was trying to do something good for his brother’s team, emphasizing that it wasn’t just any regular hockey team.
